Brian Morris - With a background in biophysics, Brian is the project's Decompression Planner.  Brian is a Reno attorney and the developer of Departure - the decompression dive planning software used by New Millennium Dive Expeditions.  He has given numerous presentations on diving safety and decompression applications, including to the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.    Brian's main responsibility is ensuring safe and conservative planning of the team's decompression dives.  With over 20 years of diving experience, 18 of which have been as a professional educator, his comprehensive knowledge and skills as a diver and educator bring to New Millennium an aura of intense conservatism and safety; both a must for safeguarding all expedition divers. Martin McClellan - Martin is the project coordinator and creator of New Millennium Dive Expeditions. A Master SCUBA Instructor for 18 Years, he is the driving force behind the project. With his strong organizational skills and over 5900 dives the world over, he has the experience to manage the expedition and the confidence of the other team members. This experience has given him an adaptation to "innerspace" that provides unrestrained confidence and a relaxed disposition toward decompression Diving. Martin will also be a videographer during the expedition dives.  See his Resume

Michael Beach - Beach brings an element of energy and enthusiasm to this expedition. A diver for over 15 years, he has always sought out the unknown and new adventures in diving with a fervor very rarely matched. His experience provides a confidence that radiates throughout all members of New Millennium Dive Expeditions. Beach is the one of the expedition’s Procedural Analysts. His primary responsibility is to perform operational and procedural evaluations, prior to and following all expedition dives, specifically focusing upon logistics, efficiency and safety. The senior member of the expedition, he provides a mature watch over all.

A note:  The adventure of deep technical decompression diving is truly an incredible experience but accomplishing these depths without these people and their intense discipline toward the safety of the Expedition Divers would not be possible.  Thus, it must be noted that all Expedition Divers owe an intense debt of gratitude and appreciation for what New Millennium's Safety Staff do.  For without these great  people, great divers, we don't do what we do!   Thanks Safety Staff..........................you are the best!

Mona Dible - Mona has participated in the sport of SCUBA since 1990. Having spent over 25 years as an educator in the public school systems of Northern Nevada she excels as an Assistant SCUBA Instructor. Mona has been responsible for introducing many new divers to the underwater world in a highly safe, conscientious and precise manner. Having logged over 500 dives, Mona has dove all over the world. She also holds certifications in Nitrox and Rebreather diving and is highly proficient in the process of technical diving. The SS Tahoe project, however, is a perfect project for Mona. As a past Vice-President of the Nevada Historical Society she states, "I can't help being truly caught up with my involvement in an activity that will allow me to be part of the making of Nevada history. Not many people have that opportunity."

durgin.jpg (4366 bytes) Dana Durgin - Diving for over 12 years, Dana has dove nearly all types of environments. As a Divemaster he has been involved with the training of student divers since 1987. Logging well over 750 dives his diving emphasizes safety, primarily enjoying highly adventurous diving activities. He states, "The exciting aspect of the SS Tahoe expedition is that it is breaking new ground - doing something that has never been done at this altitude." Dana explains, "The safety divers are a vital component to the redundant safety systems that get the divers through the dive safely and back to the surface." Emphasizing problem prevention he further explains, "If we do nothing more than watch during the actual dives, we have done our primary job."

Duane Isenberg - Trained in the use of Rebreathers and Nitrox, Duane’s inherent inclination has been toward technical diving. An avid diver with a zest for new experiences, he has developed an immense respect amongst his piers. With all the advancements in deep technical diving, compounded by the essential need for adherence to strict procedural protocol, this retired Police Officer, now Professional Investigator, has the experience to understand the magnitude of the safety position. He states, "the safety support diver is a critical and essential element for the success of this highly technical ascent." Regarding the challenges that lie ahead he explains, "I look forward to the diving and historical experience that will be achieved during the exploration of the SS Tahoe."

Andy Monroe – Diving for 6 years, Andy has chosen a path in diving that support his community. As a member of the Northern Nevada Sheriffs Search and Rescue Dive Team, his talents, skills and abilities position him perfectly in New Millennium’s safety team. Trained in a variety of in-water rescue he explains, "participating in this type of project will give me the chance to experience and learn new methods and procedures for safely planning and conducting deep technical decompression diving; completely new territory and is quite exciting!" Having experienced diving from a reactionary standpoint, this expedition will give Andy the chance to adopt a preventative attitude toward dive planning.

Donn Owens - One of the most charismatic and personable divers one could ever enjoy a dive. Diving since 1993 Donn has excelled as an Envoy to new divers. An Assistant SCUBA Instructor he spreads his excitement to all new divers he meets. "I used to fly airplanes and carry a gun for a living…Diving is much more exciting" sums up the enthusiasm and excitement Donn shares toward diving. As a retired FBI agent, he has a highly detailed and critical eye, making him ideal in the position of safety for this project. Regarding involvement with New Millennium he explains, "Being part of a history setting event in a world where there aren't many records left to be broken really excites me. Doing something that is historically significant makes it really important to me."

Byron ParksDiving since 1987 Byron has participated in a variety of diving activities. As a dive guide, a visitor and a student he has experienced diving from many different perspectives. "Now, technical diving has provided me a new and exciting opportunity for continuing my education in the underwater realm." An avid triathlete, his love for outdoor challenges motivates his desire to safety dive for New Millennium. He explains, "I see my primary function as providing "feedback and verification," meaning… I have the objectivity of being just enough removed from what the expedition divers are doing to be critical yet constructive." His relaxed character creates an atmosphere of confidence during the preparation of all expedition dives. His fascination, "understanding and now being part of Tahoe history."

Jimi QuinnDiving since 1986, Jimi, an Assistant SCUBA Instructor, has shown an intense dedication toward instilling safety in his divers. His enthusiasm toward this sport is exceeded only by his attention toward detail in all aspects of diving and dive planning. As an experienced underwater photographer, he will double as a safety diver and photographer for New Millennium. Asked why he is interested in being involved with the mission to the SS Tahoe, he states, "I want to learn more about technical and mixed-gas diving, the planning of decompression diving and… I love history." When questioned about the safety aspect, he states, "being an extra pair of eyes without all the extra equipment will allow me to provide objective input and discover ‘what if scenarios’ that potentially will make the expedition dives safer for all."

Wendy BaldwinDiving since 1998, Wendy functions as New Millennium's Topside Dive Coordinator.  She is responibile for the coordination of all aspects of equipment loading, boat preparation, site set-up and tech diver activities.  Trained in all aspects of first-aid, CPR and DAN Oxygen Provider, she is the keystone to the efficient and safe operations New Millennium has been conducting since 1998.

Marc BrisenoDiving since 1998, a diver that is more mechanically inclined and logistically minded regarding diving operations than that of divers with 10 times the experience.   Marc is the lead in our dive site set-up.  Responsible for establishing the New Millennium Dive and Decompression station, which he designed and implemented, dives to 400 plus feet at an elevation of 6229 would not be possible without his talents.

Ian Beach –A diver for over seven years, Ian spends most of his in water time taking care of the deep tech divers.  A diver with an alert mind and always conscientious of his underwater duties makes the expedition dives in 400 plus feet of blue water, safe and memorable
Parker.jpg (28978 bytes) Steve ParkerAs an M.D., Steve is an integral part of our diving safety staff.  Diving since 1997 not only has "Parker" added his medical knowledge to the project but has been trained in Rescue diving and is presently training under the GUE/DIR philosophy and is Cave Certified.
